Bases Are Temporary
A base is an endgame goal — a sign you’ve survived long enough to build something worth attacking.
But no base is permanent. Defense is about delay, not invincibility.
What a base is for
Stability
A place to recover, organize, and plan.
Routine survival
Farming, cooking, maintenance — the “living” part.
Story
Conflict, defense, raids, alliances — a base creates narrative.
What a base is NOT
Permanent safety
If someone wants in, time becomes your only ally.
A vault
If you lock everything away forever, you’re not surviving — you’re hiding.
A guarantee
Raiding is part of the ecosystem on Project DayZ.
Defense is delay
The best bases buy time: layers, angles, fallback routes, and smart storage.
If you plan like you can’t be raided, you’ll learn the hard way.
Leave a note after raids (encouraged)
Raids create stories. Leaving a note gives victims breadcrumbs — and gives the world continuity.
Know the building rules
Bases must remain raidable and within rules. If you’re unsure, ask staff before investing.
